Layflat and flat pouches can be used for almost any product from single serve products to nutraceuticals and everything in between. The difference between Layflat pouches and standup pouches is that the standup, as the name implies, are designed to stand-up at the point-of-sale location. While the layflat will typically be presented lying down or inside a carton as part of a product offering. They typically are created using 3 or 4 film layers like Paper/Poly/Foil/ Poly depending on the barrier level required.
Despite their simple, flat design, our pillow pouches are an incredibly effective solution for the storage and branding of products such as chips, candy, beauty items, household chemicals and more. Our pouches can be custom made for both resealable and single use purposes. In addition, we can custom print any design you need.
The pouch seals on the top and bottom of the bag and includes a seam on the back giving the product a common nickname Fin Seal. This traditional pouch is perhaps the most cost effective type of packaging as it uses less material than others. An almost identical construction is the Lap Seal which seals the back of the pouch without the “fin”.
Just because the pillow pouch is one of the most traditional options doesn’t mean it lacks the unique customizable features we offer with other products. We provide a wide variety of branding options including press to close zippers, valves, spouts, and fitments. Our Graphics Dept. is here to help design your custom pouch and print it with your logo and artwork. We do our best to make sure your packaging is constructed to support your required specs and products.
Our packaging designers will work with you to create customized pouches based on your product’s unique formulation, usage, life cycle, and the filling equipment being utilized. We provide technical services including advanced pouch prototyping, sizing, product/package compatibility testing, burst, and drop testing.
