Barrier films are typically laminated with metalized film to prevent oxygen or moisture from reaching a packaged product. A typical barrier film would be constructed using 3 or 4 different materials laminated together. A Paper/Poly/Foil/Poly is commonly used for products requiring a moisture and oxygen barrier. Foil films, typically metalized polyester, are also used in conjunction with odiferous products and sterile products like bandages, wipes and medical disposables.
Over the past 50 years, Drew & Rogers has earned a reputation in the flexible packaging industry for having exceptional expertise about high barrier film laminations for “hard to hold” products such as engine oils, lubricants, and even pure isopropyl alcohol.
